Comprises: (1) Material acquired 1962-1965 while Redgrove was a Gregory Fellow, namely, the proof copy of his collection of poems entitled 'The Nature of Cold Weather' (1961) with his autograph manuscript corrections, a similar proof copy of his collection of poems entitled 'At the White Monument' (1963), together with a hardback copy of the published work, and autograph typed drafts of his 'Writing Seminar Poems for discussion Thursday May 6th [1965]' with manuscript revisions and a duplicated typescript of the final form of the same poems; and (2) Material acquired in 1976 relating to Redgrove's work while he was O'Connor Professor of Literature at Colgate University, U.S.A., and resident author at Falmouth School of Art, Cornwall, namely, 7 notebooks and scrapbooks containing autograph manuscript and typescript drafts of many poems composed during 1974-1975, profusely interspersed in the scrapbooks with illustrative black and white and coloured photographs of scenes and objects in Britain and America (and a few coloured postcards) pasted on to their leaves. These notebooks and scrapbooks are numbered 49G, 50B, 51, 52, 53, 53A, and 53C, and most of them have the author's name and current addresses with dates written on their inside front covers. They are accompanied by a detailed list of contents drawn up by library staff and a letter from the Librarian [Mr D. Cox] to Miss Falk of the Arts Council dated 11 July 1975 concerning the purchase of the material. Notebook 52 includes a letter from David Stonestreet of Routledge & Kegan Paul Ltd to the author dated 24 July 1975 concerning the publisher's editing of Redgrove's manuscript of 'The Glass Cottage'.
